Atlas Health Project Features in University BIM Seminar

Wednesday 23rd June 2010

Atlas was proud to sponsor the Building Information Modelling Seminar held at the University of New South Wales, Australia on 23rd June. The event focussed on the impacts of BIM and explored open standards on healthcare projects in Australia. Atlas was joined at the event by architects, engineers and other clients who are already using BIM on their healthcare projects.

In addition to the well documented benefits of model based collaboration in construction, BIM can further benefit health projects by integrating information across the Briefing, Design & Construction, and the Facilities Management phases of a project. John Lambert-Smith, the Director of Healthcare for Atlas commented “It was an insightful event, and I was particularly proud to see the Atlas-built BIM model from the Gold Coast University Hospital Project utilised in one of the UNSW lectures”.

The event was developed and managed by CHAA, BE UNSW, and buildingSMART Australia, whose members have worked with Atlas in the past on BIM-based projects.
