In June 2018 Atlas’ Senior Advisor Stéphane Asselin attended a series of meetings between Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuân Phúc and senior Canadian politicians as part of an initiative to strengthen business ties between the two countries.

The initial meeting (pictured) was co-chaired by former Canadian Prime Minister The Honorable Jean Chrétien and the Governor General of Canada and NASA Astronaut, The Honorable Julie Payette.

The politicians took advantage of their attendance at the G7 Summit to meet with representatives of leading corporations in the banking, aviation, agriculture, high technology, manufacturing and digital industries including the Founder and Chairman of FPT, Mr Truong Gia Binh.

Stéphane Asselin commented, “It was a privilege and honour for Atlas to be invited to this important meeting.  It was remarkable to realise how sophisticated and business savvy Vietnam has become since I first worked in Saigon in South Vietnam in the early 1990s. This meeting saw the Chairman of one of the largest technology companies in the world headquartered in Vietnam attend a meeting alongside leading Canadian CEOs. The future is bright for continued collaboration between Canada and Vietnam in the many years and decades to come.”
