Structural Team Leader

Role &
Responsibilities
  • Develop and review structural systems, including BIM modeling, drawings, schedules, specifications, calculations, and related tasks.
  • Lead detailed design efforts for large-scale infrastructure projects, including bridges, tunnels, and transportation systems.
  • Ensure project quality by thoroughly reviewing digital and physical drawings while adhering to Atlas TAP and QMS procedures.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues, providing recommendations to senior project members as needed.
  • Lead and mentor a team of 6+ engineers and technical staff across multiple projects, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment while ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Resolve conflicts, prioritize tasks, and delegate responsibilities effectively to meet project milestones.
  • Oversee the structural modelling and documentation scope of multiple projects, managing planning, execution, budgeting, and delivery to meet client expectations.
  • Allocate resources efficiently while ensuring adherence to quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) protocols.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, participate in project meetings, and support contract negotiations.
  • Assist in proposal preparation, cost estimate and manage contracts.
  • Perform additional tasks as required to support project and organizational objectives.
Requirements

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

 

  • Sc. or higher in Structural Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in structural modeling and documentation with at least (2) years in project coordination & management.
  • Proven ability to lead medium-sized teams on medium to large-scale projects.
  • Experience with medium to large scale infrastructure projects such as bridges, tunnels and transportation systems.
  • Track record in international regulatory environments (eg. UK, AU).
  • Proficiency in drafting and documentation tools: Revit or Tekla, AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency in BIM platforms: Navisworks, BIM 360, Revizto, Trimble Connect.
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Vietnamese.

 

Technical Knowledge

 

  • Advanced knowledge with international structural design codes and standards (e.g., Eurocodes, AISC, BS, ACI, ASCE, AS).
  • Extensive knowledge of structural systems (steel, concrete).
  • Proficient in preparing shop models/drawings and resolving detailing issues.

 

Team Leadership and Collaboration

 

  • Experience in leading a single team of 6+ engineers and technical staff.
  • Skilled in mentoring and task delegation.

 

Project Management

 

  • Ability to manage structural modeling, planning, budget and execution effectively.
  • Detail-oriented approach to ensure deliverable accuracy and QA/QC adherence.

 

Client Relationship Management

 

  • Proficient in addressing client feedback and aligning deliverables.
  • Capable of representing the team in client discussions.
