We collaborate with clients to deliver sophisticated structural engineering solutions through state-of-the-art technologies and a rigorous technical approach.
Faced with the frequent challenge of delivering high-performance services faster, and in a more cost-effective manner, structural engineering demands a well-managed one-team approach to develop intelligent solutions.
Having partnered with some of the world’s leading consultants and contractors, we help our clients improve documentation quality, deliver larger more complex projects and to become more competitive in the marketplace.
Our structural engineering team brings cross-sector delivery experience, deep knowledge of international standards, and the strength of our broader digital capability to projects spanning buildings, sports stadiums, rail and metro infrastructure, roadways, bridges, tunnels and viaducts, mining works, and modular structures such as car parks, data centres and industrial plants.
Using a scan-to-BIM approach, we developed a highly detailed Revit LOD 500 model of all existing structural and MEP systems for an operational oil refinery undergoing expansion and refurbishment.
Given the scale and complexity of the facility, we utilised EdgeWise pipe modelling software to automate and accelerate the generation of accurate 3D pipe work. On completion, the coordinated model was converted into a 3D AutoCAD file, providing a reliable digital foundation for design, coordination and construction planning.

MEP Engineering
During the design and construct stage of a nine-storey A-Grade office campus building, the main contractor needed a BIM partner to develop a fully coordinated, all-disciplines Revit model. They wanted the outputs from the structural, architectural, and MEP consultants to be integrated into a single, evolving BIM as the design progressed.
We authored the project-specific BIM Execution Plans for all disciplines and developed and managed the fully federated LOD 300 model including updates throughout delivery.
3D models and documentation were produced for every discipline, with MEPF 3D modelling extended through construction, contract administration, and post-practical completion stages. We also led 4D/5D/6D integration, and provided full clash detection, issue resolution, and design model adjustments aligned with agreed system priorities. Enscape visualisations were produced for client sign-off, and we ensured accurate tagging and metadata structuring for FM systems. Our team also supported the client with trade package development, workshop drawing reviews, schedule generation, RFI resolution and defects inspections and at project completion handed-over a fully coordinated as-built LOD 500 model ready for operational use.
At project end, the client received a well-coordinated, clash free model in roughly 60% of the time a conventional workflow would have required. This upfront efficiency provided a reliable model for construction and allowed the project to reach completion ahead of schedule.

The main contractor awarded the design and build contract for a dual two-lane sea viaduct, with 7 approach viaducts, needed to validate the accuracy and buildability of the developing design while managing significant interface risks with the existing transport infrastructure.
Achieving this required a coordinated BIM model capable of detecting clashes, supporting construction sequencing, and informing safety assessments. The client also needed clear, ongoing coordination across disciplines and a robust approach to maintaining and updating project information.
We provided comprehensive BIM and documentation from LOD 200 to LOD 400 in critical areas supported by integrated civil and structural engineering expertise.
From existing design information, we produced a fully integrated BIM model with particular focus on the viaduct’s critical interfaces with live transport infrastructure. We confirmed the accuracy of the design work, detected clashes and confirmed that the design was buildable. Throughout the project, the model was rigorously maintained and updated. In addition, we supported the design and planning of temporary works and contributed to improvements in the buildability of the permanent works.
One of our team members worked from the client’s project office, enabling close day-to-day coordination with the wider project team, additionally helping support the development of construction programmes, detailed modelling of construction sequencing, and the assessment of health and safety considerations.
At project completion, the Project Director could demonstrate to their Board that collaborating with Atlas contributed to a direct project saving of close to HK$20million.

The client needed a delivery partner with in-depth knowledge of detailing and documentation of concrete structures to help meet the challenging requirements of the project comprising bridges, viaducts, and other related rail infrastructure.
We were tasked with structural Revit LOD 300 modelling, production of detailed design and IFC stage drawings, and services coordination and clash detection.
Given the complexity of the 3D modelling scope, we developed efficient execution methods by introducing customised add-ins and automation tools. This significantly accelerated the modelling and large-scale updates—their effectiveness evident when frequent design changes and rework were required, enabling the team to meet tight deadlines despite the project’s scale.

This project required the delivery of a detailed LOD 400 BIM model and fabrication-ready drawings for the steel and tube frame of a new luxury retail concession within an airport environment.
Working across Tekla, Revit, AutoCAD and Rhino, we modelled a two-storey steel structure featuring a highly complex façade formed from polycarbonate tubes. The LOD 400 model was developed at bolt level, allowing it to be used directly for fabrication, including the generation of shop drawings and CNC-compatible export files for automated manufacturing.
We also produced the full issue-for-construction fabrication drawing set covering the primary steel frame, tube support structure and polycarbonate tubes.

3D Visualisation
Recognising early that conventional modelling methods would be insufficient to capture the complexities of the structure’s design, we adopted an advanced digital workflow that harnessed parametric processes and automation.
We seamlessly integrated the latest technological tools into our workflow—leveraging Grasshopper for parametric modelling, Tekla API for automated component creation, and Solibri for comprehensive quality assurance. This allowed us to transform what could have been a painstaking manual task into a streamlined, data-rich, and highly automated pipeline.
The automation and structured dataflow greatly improved project scheduling and progress monitoring, making the process more predictable and manageable for all stakeholders. The result was an exceptionally precise digital model, delivered far faster than with conventional methods.
